The CITY of LOVE (Food Trip)
When it comes to eating food, Filipinos just can’t say “No”
Filipinos are the likeliest to admit that “lack of willpower” in refusing good food is the top cause for being fat, compared to other countries that blame other factors. Pity the dieter who swears off all fried foods for health-related reasons; not only does she cross out the most delicious constituents of any menu, she excludes herself from the best parts of the Filipino food experience, too.If you're Pinoy, you're likely to start your morning with something fried and continue in like fashion throughout the day. We take comfort in food that's been seared in oil, whether it's a tocino and egg at sunrise or sizzling sisig post-five-thirsty over beer with friends. It's all very natural to any Filipino, at least until heart disease catches up with us.
Fried food has made life easier, and improved the culinary experience overall. The next time you bite into that kentekoy or start your day with tosilog, say a silent word of thanks to the unnamed cook who first put raw food and hot oil together. Frying is something to celebrate… even if your cardiologist thinks otherwise.

SEX AND GENDER ACROSS CULTURES
In nature, male and female are distinct. She-elephants are gregarious, he-elephants solitary. Male zebra finches are loquacious - the females mute. Female green spoon worms are 200,000 times larger than their male mates. These striking differences are biological - yet they lead to differentiation in social roles and skill acquisition.
SEXUALITY AND GENDER - What Religion has to do?
- Americans tend to be polarized between social and religious conservatives and liberals/progressives.
- Non-Christian religions differ little from Christians on matters of sexual orientation.
- Conservatives from all religions tend to agree with each other: that only opposite-gender sexual behavior is moral, and then only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
- Religious liberals are also largely in agreement among themselves, and tend to value sexual behavior as acceptable if it is consensual, low risk for pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease (STD) transmission. and perhaps within a committed relationship.
- Those of no religious affiliation -- Agnostics, Atheists, Free Thinkers, Humanists, -- tend to hold beliefs similar to those of religious liberals.
- Almost all groups disapprove of sexual behavior that is non-consensual, manipulative, forced, or unsafe. However, there are some profoundly misogynistic religious traditions that require women to submit to being raped by their husband.

Meet My World
Mae Han Shin, 18 years old from Korea: "Korea has Four seasons: Summer, winter, autumn and spring. I think you have noticed also that we have different high fashions. When it comes to foods, Korean dishes are not really that different from some western foods but when most of the people think of Korean food, they think of kimchi. Taekwondo is our national sport but we're also fund of playing Football, Soccer and Baseball. One of our Public holidays there is Chuseok it is a celebration of the good harvest, it is also a Family get together. For our worldview, I think most of the people see Koreans as movie stars but we respect white men."
Darek, 38 years old from Warsaw, Poland: "Poland is a big country, the temperature there is very cold sometimes it reaches below 16degrees which causes death of some people there. Poland belongs to a European community but no need to have VISA when you go there. 99% of the Polish citizens are Catholics, The Polish Culture is very much centered on the family, Polish people are very defensive about their homes and their lives. Socializing is usually done in the home rather than the café, restaurant or bar. We also have four seasons but during summer our hot water is still cold."
Kpop Invasion
Youth from all over Asia have been inspired by Korean music throughout the last decades. Kpop music has become more famous than anyone would have thought about it, that’s why no wonder a lot of Filipinos nowadays are so engrossed with Korean pop songs and dramas. From soap operas, restaurants to beauty products, Korean culture has won the Filipinos’ hearts. Maybe this was begun with the export of TV Korean Dramas. Who could forget Koreanovelas like the Endless Love series, Lovers in Paris, Full House and Stairway to Heaven? Also Thanks to YouTube, Korean cable TV and music download, that’s one of the reason also why Filipinos are exposed to Korea’s finest singers and groups. As a Kpop follower somehow, I came up with a list of Kpop singers and groups many Filipinos are familiar with and will hear from in the future.
2NE1 — With Sandara Park (known as the Pambansang Krung-Krung) as one of its members, the group is fast becoming popular in the country thanks to songs such as Lollipop, Fire and I Don’t Care.
Rain — Known to Filipino audience as Justin of the hit romantic-comedy Full House, Rain is Korea’s latest export in the international entertainment industry.
Super Junior —They are considered the largest boyband with 13 members. They are one of the many Korean groups to go beyond singing and dancing with many of its members involved in acting and other activities such as anime voice recording. Although they have three albums, it was their third album Sorry, Sorry that brought them commercial success.
Wonder Girls — Filipinos by now could not stop singing the group’s hit song Nobody. With its catchy tune and ’60s theme music video.
Girls Generation — Composed of nine female members, fans often refer them as SNSD which is short for the group’s Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae or So Nyuh Shi Dae. Like other groups, the members of Girls Generation are trained in various aspects of the performing arts.
With the continued craving for anything Korean, Filipinos will continue to hear and see more Kpop artists in the coming years. It’s nice to know that many foreigners are opting to live here. I just hope that as Filipinos, we too, have that kind of impact on foreign countries. It would be nice to see that foreigners singing our songs, watching our dramas, speaking tagalog, or cooking our dishes.
HAVING THEM AROUND
Every people in this world has their own set of friends. who doesn't have one? I think nobody. Because nobody is an island. Having friends is like having a second family or having a brothers and sisters or whatever you may call it. When you feel sad and lonely, whom do you run to? in times of troubles and trials in your life you can always lean on them. with them around you feel great. me, i always feel comfortable with my friends. i can share my secrets and feelings with them. real BFF's accept you as what you are and what you ARE NOT.
memories with friends is unforgettable. we must treasure every part of it. because memories are the only treasures that we have that cannot be taken by somebody. even if we are distance apart from them we can still feel their presence by having memories with them. lets thank God for giving us friends that we can lean on in better or worst.
